Abstract: In the spring of 2010, thousands of ocean animals and birds were affected by the large oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil spills have caused many problems for animals and birds around the world. When oil gets stuck on birds’ feathers, it causes damage to their bodies. The thick oil is so heavy that the birds cannot fly. While trying to remove the oil by cleaning themselves, the birds will accidentally eat the oil and poison themselves. Also, birds will sometimes suffocate. To help the birds clean their feathers, gentle soaps may be used to remove the oil from the birds’ feathers. Through my experiment, I hope to find out which gentle cleaner works best to remove oil from birds and animals. |

Abstract: I did this science experiment because I wanted to find out if it is possible to see the information molecule of life or DNA in a plant cell without using a microscope. I felt that this was not possible since DNA is too tiny. I was able to do the experiment using everyday household items, excepting the pipettes and test tube. It was exciting to discover that DNA could be seen without a microscope. |

Abstract: I would cut all
the food in half and weigh it. Record the weight and put it in the oven. I
would keep on checking the weight until two of the weights are the same. Then
I'd figure out the percentage and record it in the chart. |

Abstract: I made 3 identical
houses out of popsicle sticks and painted them different colours(1-black,1-white,1-not
painted at all). Then I put them in the sun and took all their temperatures.
Next I compared all temperatures to each other as well as to the outside
temperature. My hypothesis was correct. The black one absorbed the most heat.
